Description
The whole body of this jade dragon is dark brown, the soak-induced color penetrates into the jade and it is impervious to light. The surface has a warm patina.
The jade dragon is in the shape of a disc, no claws, the dragon head is slightly raised, the mouth is opened, it has serrated teeth, the dragon nose is upturned, and the face has three folds carved with shade-lines, “臣” shaped eyes also carved with double shade-lines, mushrooms shaped horns are slightly upwards and the cheeks are embossed with hook-like patterns. The whole body is decorated with diamond-shaped dragon scales composed of multiple shade-lines. The lines are neat, smooth, and detailed.
This jade dragon is very small, but the carving is exquisite. For the craftsmen in ancient times, the smaller the object, the more difficult it is to carve. And the carving of this small dragon is so detailed, it shows that the craftsman who made it is skilled and treated it is very serious with ingenuity.
