Description
This jade parrot from the Shang dynasty is in flat shape, with a high crest, hook-beak and closed wings. The feet are straight and upright. Double line carved “臣” shaped eyes and feather patterns on the body. Irregular spine-shaped decorations are cut on the edge of the crown to represent feathers.
There is a hole on the top of the crown, which can be worn. The material is white jade, and the whole body has soak-induced amber color.
