Description
This jade cicada is very rare, and it is difficult to tell when it was made from the shape and form. But judging from the dark brown soak-induced color and thick patina, it should be a long time ago.
The jade cicada has a flat face. It is hollow like a tube. It is probably a broken flute or pipe shaped pendant . From ancient times to the present, jade is precious and rare. Craftsmen cherish the raw jade material very much. They often use their creative superb sills to re-polish and design damaged jade wares and turning them into treasures.
The eyes of the jade cicada are convex, and the two wings are polished upwards along the wall of the tube to form an arc. The mouth and the upper part of the body are decorated with thick concave lines which is very bold. There is a horn hole on each side of the mouth. Therefore, this jade cicada has two ways of hanging horizontally and vertically.
This jade cicada has a compact and vivid shape, simple, bold and unique. Because the inside and outside are finely polished, the patina is mild and lustrous. It feels delicate and smooth. Besides it is relatively heavy for it’s small size and hollow design. The overall feeling holing it is very good.
